The back parlor/library was turned into a kitchen between 1927 and 1939 when the Brinton House was converted to a duplex. The doorway between the front and back parlor was closed off and a back door put in to the back porch. Between 1960 and 1990 a main floor bathroom constructed on the north side of that room. In converting the home back to a single family dwelling, the decision was made to keep the main floor as a half bath. The original long narrow windows were taken out when the home was a two family dwelling and smaller kitchen sink windows were added. In August 2007, Dvorak Construction removed the smaller windows and replaced them with more appropriate long, narrow windows. The door added in the 1930’s was replaced with a window as well.
